I have spent some time travelling through South America and the west coast of Scotland researching my own family ties and through this, sourcing inspiration. Through using a wide range of materials, techniques and imagery I reflect the eclectic nature of my subject matter in a quirky way.
I use beaded wire to echo the intense decoration found in antique jewellery. By combining this with individual wax castings, flat pierced shapes, found objects and semi precious stones I aim to create thought provoking pieces.
I am currently an Artist in Residence in Ayrshire, South West Scotland. I have a workshop at the Dean Castle in Kilmarnock and I teach one day a week in primary schools which I enjoy immensely.
