In January 2002, at the invitation of Oceanographer David Thomas, Louise Hibbert and Sarah Parker-Eaton visited the laboratories at the University of Wales in Bangor. By using modern microscopy Sarah and Louise explored the movements, interactions and myriad forms displayed by planktonic organisms. They then began to design together, sketching and discussing the various elements that appealed and carefully planned each object. They now work in their separate workshops, in contact by phone and the occasional visit, realising each design in three dimensions.
