Louise Hibbert and Sarah Parker-Eaton ~

Sarah Parker-Eaton is a jeweller working with precious metals, graduating from the University of Northumbria in 1988 with a BA (Hons) in 3D Design, after which she spent time training with jewellers and silversmiths. Sarah set up her own workshop in 1990.

Louise Hibbert is a designer-maker who graduated from University of Brighton in 1994 with a BA (Hons) in 3D design -specialising in Wood and Plastics. She makes a range of practical items (salt and pepper mills, bottle stoppers) but recently has been focusing much more on creating her whimsical one-off pieces – boxes and vessels.

In January 2002, at the invitation of Oceanographer David Thomas, Louise Hibbert and Sarah Parker-Eaton visited the laboratories at the University of Wales in Bangor. By using modern microscopy Sarah and Louise explored the movements, interactions and myriad forms displayed by planktonic organisms. They then began to design together, sketching and discussing the various elements that appealed and carefully planned each object. They now work in their separate workshops, in contact by phone and the occasional visit, realising each design in three dimensions.
