        Michael Lloyd ~ silverware

Following a course at Birmingham, Michael studied at the Royal College of Art in London from 1974 - 1976 under Robert Goodden and Gerald Benney.

From his earliest days his work has been characterised by his fascination with nature. Most of Michael’s work is silver, usually Britannia (958) and occasionally sterling (925) or gold.

Michael’s pieces have gradually evolved to make a cohesive collection of vases and bowls, which although quite different one from the other, originate from a similar starting point.

‘I am a compulsive maker, a lover of nature. My raison d’etre is to produce ecclesiastical and domestic weapons of peace in the form of chalices, vases, beakers and bowls in which I try to express a spiritual dimension where work becomes an act of homage both to our landscape and our increasingly fragile sense of creativity.’
